Flags Across Pennsylvania & Flags United
Honoring the American flag. Inspiring service. Connecting communities.
A flag’s journey through every corner of the Commonwealth.
Flags Across Pennsylvania is a statewide initiative conducted in partnership with the Pennsylvania Sheriffs’ Association. Beginning February 8, 2026, three American flags—plus one Scouting America flag—began a journey through all 67 counties of the Commonwealth.
Along the way, Scouts have led ceremonial flag presentations, community gatherings, and educational opportunities focused on citizenship, leadership, and service. Thousands of Scouts, volunteers, community leaders, law enforcement professionals, veterans, and patriotic organizations have come together to celebrate our nation’s most recognizable symbol—and the values it represents.
Within the Laurel Highlands Council, Scouts began their portion of the journey on May 15 in Clearfield County—and the flags have since traveled through all 12 counties we serve.
Connecting communities through a shared appreciation for the American flag and the freedoms it represents, our council carried the journey forward toward its culmination at Flag Plaza in Pittsburgh.
More than history—a shared commitment in action.
The American flag represents our shared commitment to service, leadership, citizenship, and community. Through this initiative, Scouts aren’t simply learning about these values—they’re putting them into action.
