Laurel Highlands Council, Scouting America is proud to announce that its Board of Directors has been recognized as the 2026 Board of the Year by the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) Three Rivers Chapter.
This prestigious award honors boards that demonstrate exemplary leadership, strong governance practices, and a meaningful impact on the organizations and communities they serve. The Laurel Highlands Council Board was selected for its outstanding commitment to advancing the mission of Scouting and ensuring long-term sustainability for youth programs across the region.
“The strength of Scouting in our community starts with strong leadership at the top,” said Paul Pigman, Council President. “On behalf of the LHC Board of Directors, Staff, volunteers, and over 12,000 youth that we across our region, we are honored to be selected as the NACD Non-Profit Board of the Year.”
The Board’s leadership has been instrumental in expanding access to Scouting programs, strengthening community partnerships, and ensuring that thousands of youth across Western Pennsylvania have access to safe, inclusive, and impactful experiences.
“The NACD Board of the Year Award is a reflection of the dedication and passion our board members bring to Scouting,” said Todd McGregor, Scout Executive/CEO. “Their leadership ensures that we continue to deliver life-changing programs that prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes.”
The award will be formally presented at the NACD Three Rivers Chapter’s annual The Director of the Year Awards Gala on Thursday, May 14 at the Fairmont Hotel in downtown Pittsburgh.
